Debate Mate is looking for people to fill the following positions:
Senior Programme Director (based in London)

Debate Mate is a global social business that uses debating to deliver key skills to young people in areas of high child deprivation. The Debate Mate programme is proven to develop communication, teamwork, leadership and critical-thinking skills, while improving students’ confidence and resilience.
Debate Mate recruits and trains 500 university students to deliver its unique and innovative programme in over 240 schools across the UK. Each week, nearly 5,000 students from a diverse range of backgrounds and abilities attend after-school debate clubs. The programme is punctuated by various national competitions, including the Urban Debate League and Debate Mate Cup. These two competitions are the largest of their kind in the world.
With headquarters in SE1, Debate Mate currently operates programmes in primary and secondary schools in London, the West Midlands, Manchester, Bristol, Nottingham, Leeds, Liverpool and Scotland. Next year will see the expansion of our Accelerate and Debate Box programmes, specifically designed for students who are at risk of being excluded from mainstream education as well as increasing the number of primary schools that are involved on the Core Programme. We also run a full programmes in Jamaica, as well as International Summer Programmes in Nepal, Rwanda and Kenya.
Debate Mate is supported by, and partnered with, a number of high-profile organisations, including: Department for Education, Teach First, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, KPMG, Simmons & Simmons, Deloitte, BJL, Goldman Sachs and Allen & Overy. We have also run programmes in association with No.10 Downing Street, Burger & Lobster, Save the Children, the BBC, Sky News, the Economist, Media Trust, Intelligence Squared, Comic Relief, RICS, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and many others.
Debate Mate runs a highly successful teacher training programme, and has delivered training on a large scale to Teach First, the National Literacy Trust, Royal Parks Foundation and various Local Authorities and school federations.
Lastly, Debate Mate was the focus of an 8-part primetime TV show – Kings & Queens of Speech – which aired on Sky 1 in May 2015.

Interviews will take place the week commencing Monday 7th May for the Senior Programme Director and the week commencing Monday 14th May for all other positions. There will be a second round of interviews for candidates that are successful in the first round.
